Over 700 attend the sold-out Gala event!

WICC Ontario held its 17th annual Gala Dinner,Star Struck – An intimate evening with Chantal Kreviazuk on April 11th at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto.

WICC dinner co-chairs, Marian Adamson and Michael Butler, introduced Ellen Moore and Jean Faulkner, the WICC Board Co-Chairs, to present a $250,000 cheque to Martin Kabat, CEO of the Ontario division of the Canadian Cancer Society.

 

WICC Board Member, Marilyn Horrick acknowledged the over $110,000 that has been raised by the currently established WICC Tributes for Leona Charbonneau, Cristina DeVargas, Linda Hajekerou, Mary Goodbrand, Jamie Knowles, Jim McRae and Micki Traikos.

 

The Gold Flame Awards recognize significant contributions to WICC and this year went to Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, Ross Totten and Team Totten, National Insurance Conference of Canada (NICC) and Joel Baker, First General Services (Ottawa) and Kelly Santini, LLP (Ottawa).  The Lew Dunn Memorial Award was presented to Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

 

Since WICC’s inception in 1996, the Canadian P&C insurance industry has raised more than $6 million for cancer research.
