Recognition Awards

The 2022 Recognition Awards, and 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award were announced at the Ontario Virtual Learning Breakfast on November 8th.

2023 Volunteer of the Year Award:
WICC would not exist without people volunteering their time to make events and fundraising happen. Over the years, some of our volunteers have gone way above and beyond and a few years ago we began a tradition to recognize these people.

We are delighted to announce this year’s WICC Ontario Volunteer of the Year Winner – Indira Ramdial.  As a member of this event’s committee, and as Co-Chair of the Golf Committee, Indira has been tirelessly devoting her time to raising funds for cancer research for several years.  Indira began her WICC journey back in 2019.  Her energy and enthusiasm for WICC events is incredible.  She dedicates six months of her year, every year from
June – November to ensure these events are well run and generate ample funds for cancer research.  She brings a tremendous amount of energy and
enthusiasm, as well as much needed organizational skills to both events. Congratulations and thank you Indira!

2022 Hall of Flame Award:
WICC’s highest level of recognition, the Hall of Flame award was created in 2005 to recognize the profound impact made by Crawford Canada.  Their “Crawford Cares” program, launched in 2004, invited all employees to nominate their charity of choice which would receive 100% of all donations and fundraising monies raised in that year.

Selection Criteria:

i) Level of contribution and initiative in raising funds for WICC.

ii) The extent of engagement from employees and/or community reach elevating the awareness for WICC.

iii) Commitment of contributions made over several years.

This year the award goes to:

The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC). Over many years, the IBC has recognized the important role WICC plays in uniting the insurance industry and
providing a non-partisan space for our industry to join forces and do good.
