Relay For Life on June 12 – Join WICC in support of The Canadian Cancer Society
The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) is pleased to announce that once again it is supporting the Canadian Cancer Society’s signature event.
Marking their 13th year of participating, WICC’s chapters are uniting for the national Relay For Life on June 12 from 8 to 9 p.m. ET. Virtual again this year, the one-hour live-streamed event is an inspiring, fun and interactive way for participants of all ages to relay from the comfort of their home while respecting physical distancing.
The fundraising goal for this year’s event is $500,000. Last year, the industry stepped up to the Relay At Home challenge and raised $206,178 in donations and corporate sponsor support. Since its inception, WICC has fundraised over $18 million to support cancer research.
The virtual Relay For Life features all of the hallmark components of in-person relay events, including:
- Celebrating cancer survivors and supporting people living with cancer
- Fun, interactive entertainment for all ages
- Music
- Collecting online donations
- A luminary ceremony to remember those we’ve lost.
And through social media, you can connect with others experiencing the event in communities across Canada.
