This year, the WICC Ottawa SugarBush Breakfast event will be held in the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, in the beautifully renovated Canada Room.

We are delighted to introduce our speaker – Dr Ian Lorimer of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Four in 10 cases of glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, are missing a specific gene called PTEN, which keeps cells from growing and dividing out of control. With the support of a CCS Innovation Grant, Dr Ian Lorimer and his team are developing a way to treat glioblastoma by restoring the missing gene. They will engineer a special cell to deliver PTEN to the brain where the researchers hope it will halt tumour growth and prolong survival.

Please note there are no formal tickets for the SugarBush breakfast  – please just come to the registration table upon entering the venue.  We have both individual registrations and Corporate tables listed and we will advise of the table # for seating at that time.

Don’t forget to wear your plaid shirts!!!
