2019 CCS Relay for Life in partnership with WICC at Sherbourne Common – June 14th

The WICC / CCS Relay For Life is a festival-like fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Events are 6 to 12 hours in length, depending on the event location. Each team taking part is asked to have at least one member on the track at all times to symbolize the ongoing fight against cancer. On and off the track, there is always something to do at Relay For Life. Those taking a break from walking can check out the entertainment and many activities, or relax at their team’s “campsite”.

Relay For Life demonstrates that no one should face cancer alone. These events bring together insurance teams of family members, friends and colleagues to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we’ve lost and commit to raising funds to fight all types of cancer. Relay For Life is a community of people fighting back against cancer.

Relay For Life is also a global movement to end cancer which is active in 29 countries and 6000 communities worldwide, whereby participants commit to raising funds for work against all types of cancer.

Relay For Life is CCS’s largest fundraising initiative each year with 100 percent of funds raised by WICC-aligned Teams, going directly toward ground breaking cancer research.

We’re excited to announce our Toronto Relay event will be on June 14th from 6pm to 11pm at a new venue – Sherbourne Common.  This downtown location on the lake at the bottom of Sherbourne Street, offers a great track, beautiful park land for our team “camp sites” and is TTC accessible.

The 2019 RFL event will mark WICC’s 11th year supporting this fundraiser!
