WICC Ottawa held its 8th annual Sugar Bush Breakfast on April 26th, 2019 at the Shaw Centre in downtown Ottawa. More than 200 guests had the opportunity to network and catch up with industry colleagues while enjoying the spectacular view and having fun in a photo booth, before digging into a hearty French Canadian-style breakfast.
Thanks to the presence of maple taffy and countless guests in plaid shirts, Highland and step dancing performances by the MacCulloch Dancers, and foot-stomping music by a fiddle and guitar duo, the event truly had a “Sugar Bush in the city” ambience.
A cheque in the amount of $25,000.00 was presented to Amy Desjardins, Director of the Canadian Cancer Society Ottawa. Also in attendance was Dr. Carolina Ilkow, who spoke about her involvement in research that is supported by the WICC Ontario (Ottawa Region) Innovation Grant of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The event raised more than $12,000, which goes directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
