RELAY FOR LIFE – TORONTO – JUNE 8, 2023 – CANCELLED DUE TO POOR AIR QUALITY
Over the past several days, the WICC Relay planning committee has worked closely with the Canadian Cancer Society’s leadership team to monitor the wildfire situation and air quality conditions in the GTA area. Due to the Air Quality rating in Toronto, forecast to be a level 9 today, June 8, CCS have made the very difficult decision to cancel the Relay For Life event scheduled for today.
The safety of all participants, volunteers and staff remains the top priority and has guided CCS’ decision-making process. CCS are in turn, acting in accordance with The Government of Canada’s Air Quality Index that advises when air quality ratings are high or very high that people reduce or avoid outdoor activities, which is the case here.
Relay For Life Toronto 2023 will not be rescheduled. National events on June 10th will be ongoing. We look forward to next year’s Relay For Life.

– The challenge will run for 10 days, from June 1 to June 7, leading us right into the LIVE, IN PERSON Relay event (Toronto) on June 8th, 2023 – please sign up ahead of time so you don’t miss out on the fun!
