An unprecedented 411 registered guests for our 10th anniversary and a highest ever $145,000 contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society on behalf of the P&C Industry for 2018. Wow!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the commitment of our supporters within the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry and partners. Our moto of mobilizing the Industry in the fight for life is certainly gaining grounds. We are so proud of all who contributed to the success of this evening of fun, networking, learning and building relationships. Your support throughout the years has allowed our young Chapter to donate $845,000 towards Research to the Canadian Cancer Society. We are looking forward to reach the million $ contribution this coming year.
Door prizes, surprises, silent auction and wonderful donations to bid upon. We are so grateful to our sponsors, supporters and all those who contribute to the success of this event that has imposed itself as a “must” within this wonderful Industry. The gala is one of our three annual fund-raising activities towards cancer research, in this province. Our April 17th Breakfast event that took place at the St-James Club has been attended to full room capacity with 163 guests, and our second edition of our unique “Rock for WICC” evening of June 7th has seen 183 participants subjugated by the musical “hidden J” talent of many of our Industry’s performers in a downtown Montreal pub.
What an evening! Our featured guest speaker, Mrs. Mei-Lin Yee, who is also a speaker for the CCS, captivated our emotions and drive with her story with multiple Stage 4 cancers and 5 years of chemotherapy that ended up with a call from her oncologist in 2014 saying “It’s all gone”. She praised Research that allowed that beautiful finality. She commended WICC for its mission of supporting Research. Our devoted “all-volunteer” Committee has insured that all participants were warmly welcomed and assured a memorable evening in a wonderful friendly and joyful atmosphere … Our “silent auction” smart phone App with the free Wi-Fi hotel connection made miracles of generosity and fun throughout the evening. It was the one-event that we asked participants not to shut their phone …
