We are delighted to announce this year’s WICC Ontario Volunteer of the Year Winner, Marta Sampaio!
WICC would not exist without people volunteering their time to make events and fundraising happen. Not one penny of the over $16.5M raised in the past 23 years would have happened if it weren’t for our volunteers. These individuals give their time selflessly, often on multiple events and without seeking recognition of any kind.
Over the years, Marta has gone way above and beyond:
Marta has been an enthusiastic WICC volunteer (for Gala and Golf) for many years. Marta co-chaired the WICC golf tournament for 2 years with Marian Adamson before taking on the role of event chair in 2017. Marta has volunteered at the Gala for the last two years also, and volunteered at the Breakfast this year.
Marta puts a great deal of personal time and effort into not only chairing the event the committee and overseeing the event itself but also using her sales skills to drive sales and event sponsorships. Marta isn’t afraid to think outside the box to rebrand and reinvigorate the WICC Golf Tournament. Her mission is to maximize event success and participation experience.
We are delighted to recognize Marta Sampaio with this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award. Congratulations Marta and thank you for all your good work!
