WICC Ottawa’s 4th Annual Sugar Bush Breakfast A Delicious Success!

WICC Ottawa held its 4th Sugar Bush Breakfast on April 4th at the NAC. Much fun was had by all 300 in attendance who enjoyed a hearty breakfast, maple taffy, live music, laughs at the photo booth and lots of great door prizes. A video presented by (Ottawa’s own) Dr. Rebecca Auer’s research lab team made the crowd particularly “happy” and was no doubt the highlight of the event.
Thanks go out to the generous support of all sponsors, prize donors and those in attendance as well as the hard work of an energetic team of volunteers. This year’s event raised $14,500! This sum will be 100 % dedicated to Dr. Andrew Makrigiannis with the University of Ottawa. WICC Ontario/Ottawa has committed to supporting a 2 year $185,000 Canadian Cancer Society Innovation Grant to this inspirational doctor whose work involves studying whether the immune system has a role in breast cancer development.
