WICC Wins 2014 National Council of the Canadian Cancer Society Corporate Achievement Award!

WICC National has been named by the National Council of the Canadian Cancer Society as its 2014 Corporate Achievement Award winner.  In recent months, each of the WICC provincial chapters in Alberta, BC, Ontario and Quebec were honoured by the Canadian Cancer Society with their own ceremony and award presentation.

The Canadian Cancer Society Corporate Achievement Award recognizes a corporation or business which has made significant financial contribution to 3

or more divisions of the Canadian Cancer Society on a nationwide basis.

Marc Généreux, Chair, Canadian Cancer Society Board of Directors, had this message for WICC: “I would like to extend my personal thanks for your commitment to the society’s mission and your passion for the fight against cancer.  WICC’s leadership role in mobilizing the insurance industry to raise funds for life-saving cancer research is saving lives.  Your efforts are truly commendable and greatly appreciated by the staff at the Canadian Cancer Society.”

Ellen J. Moore & Marilyn Horrick, Co-chairs of WICC Ontario, said “The honour is a testament to the value of our organization. This award is further proof that WICC truly makes a difference in the fight against cancer through our research grants.”

Since its inception in 1997, WICC Canada Chapters have donated over $10,000,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society. The WICC mission is to mobilize the insurance industry to focus on research, support and education.

WICC extends a heartfelt thank you to the Canadian insurance industry and all WICC National Sponsors, event sponsors, volunteers and supporters for helping us to win the 2014 Canadian Cancer Society Corporate Achievement Award!
