National Sponsorship

The National Sponsorship program provides exceptional recognition opportunities for companies seeking to donate to a well-known industry-wide and nationally established charity of choice.

Through the sponsorship program, corporations help WICC realize its mission while receiving meaningful sponsorship benefits and improved employee engagement. Above all, our sponsors benefit from WICC’s long-standing relationship with the Canadian Cancer Society and our agreement with them that all funds donated through WICC would bypass any administration costs typically incurred by the CCS. It is our mandate with the CCS that funds donated through WICC are 100% administration fee-free.

Program Benefits

As a national program, participants have exposure at every WICC run event across the country – WICC’s Reach

National Sponsors chose to maximize their donation to WICC through a 3 year sponsorship of $15,000 per year while receiving benefits of national media exposure, local recognition and improved employee engagement: Media, Recognition & Engagement

To date, our National Sponsors have contributed to the program’s overall donation of over $1,646,250 to CCS supporting the most important cancer research and support initiatives underway – a wonderful and appreciated contribution. This is why WICC chapters across Canada make a point of recognizing our National Sponsors at each and every WICC event from coast to coast.

We’re pleased to say that while the program benefits have enhanced significantly over the years, the National Sponsorship fee remains the same at $15,000 per year for 3 years.

AIG Insurance – Few organizations have galvanized the insurance industry more than WICC in their quest to eradicate cancer during our lifetime.  As WICC embarks on its 20th anniversary, AIG will mark its 50th anniversary in Canada by sponsoring WICC at the national level to demonstrate the company’s commitment to the health and wellness of all Canadians.

BELFOR Property Restoration has been a contributor in a variety of ways towards the Women In Insurance Cancer Crusade for several years from a regional standpoint. As an organization we felt that becoming a National Sponsor of WICC was only fitting given that nearly everyone has felt the impacts of this disease in one way or another from all our locations coast to coast.

WICC stands out in our industry in their mission to fund research and raise awareness, and has brought the Canadian insurance industry together as a single body with one common goal of fighting this terrible disease. BELFOR is proud to play a part as a National Sponsor in this mission and look forward to a long standing relationship.

Canadian Underwriter has been a longtime and very important supporter of WICC.

Chubb Insurance Company of Canada is pleased to escalate its support for Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade to the level of Platinum National Sponsor.

Chubb has long been a supporter of WICC through local chapter support and the volunteer actions of many Chubb employees. Chubb is also Founder of the WICC Lifetime Achievement Award.

“We are exceptionally proud of WICC’s accomplishments and are inspired by the good work of these dedicated volunteers,” Ellen Moore, Chairman, President and CEO of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, said. “Chubb sees its Platinum National Sponsorship as an extension of its already strong local support for WICC and a natural next step relaying the mission at a country-wide level. Chubb employees coast to coast will appreciate first-hand the benefits of being a part of this national initiative and can be proud of Chubb’s connection to WICC as a meaningful, industry-engaging organization.”

Chubb volunteers have been very involved with WICC. “Our selection as one of Canada’s top employers shows that Chubb supports a balance of work, life and charity for our employees,” said Moore. “Having a greater connection with WICC gives our employees the opportunity to realize that balance in a way that also supports one of our industry’s biggest success stories.”

Chubb’s support for WICC endorses WICC’s work in raising funds and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society.

In December 2003 Crawford Adjusters Canada announced the launch of Crawford Cares, a community relations program which combines charitable donations and employee volunteerism from Crawford offices across Canada. The goal of the program is to focus support on one charity year and give employees an opportunity to make a difference for that charity. The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade was selected as the charity for Crawford Cares’ inaugural year, in honour of the many employees and relatives who have been impacted by this terrible disease. During 2004 Crawford doubled the program’s fundraising goals with a $50,000 donation to WICC and vowed to match this figure in 2005. Crawford’s employees were awarded the Lew Dunn Memorial Award for WICC volunteer of the year in 2005.

On Side Restoration has been a big supporter and volunteer of WICC for 10+ years, specifically with the BC and Alberta Chapters. Now having expanded operations with offices in Ontario and Newfoundland, we felt it was fitting to expand our support of this worthy cause to a national level.

“WICC is a unique organization that does such a great job of connecting different groups that are associated with the insurance sector. Being able to network, entertain and all the while contribute to the eradication of Cancer is an amazing opportunity. ROAR Engineering – Vincent and Michael Rochon, founders of Roar Engineering, are very pleased to announce that Roar is now a National Sponsor with WICC. We believe this sponsorship program is a great way to support WICC and their strong focus on cancer research funding and education. Over the years, the Rochon brothers have supported various WICC events but we now wanted to make a bigger impact through a three-year commitment to the crusade against cancer.

In one way or another, each of us have been touched by cancer. Truthfully all cancer-related charities are important so how do you choose which fundraising body to support? Roar used a scientific approach called ‘effective altruism’ to guide our decision. As engineers, our team is very familiar with this methodology and by using this evaluation we felt we could identify which charities would produce the greatest positive impact. WICC’s initiatives are directed toward saving and improving the lives of others, fundamentally creating a very effective way to improve the world.

Roar Engineering has been consistently impressed by WICC’s strong volunteer base, from individuals to companies and associations, all related to the insurance industry that collectively contribute to the important fight against cancer. The WICC volunteer team is an absolute pleasure to deal with and Roar is looking forward to this new, more formalized relationship.
